Getting to Know You

alicejohnson.jpgd2x_7420.jpgI have already enjoyed getting to know a few of Amy’s clients over the phone and am looking forward to becoming acquainted with many, many more as you all enjoy the fact that the studio is back in full swing.  In the meantime, I’d like you to know a little about me.

I spent my childhood in the rolling hills of Connecticut, so now I feel right at home in the Hill Country.  I am a graduate of Brigham Young University with a BA in American Studies.  I took time out during college to do missionary work in Argentina for a year and a half.  I married my awesome husband, Don, over 18 years ago (my, how time flies!).  He is a financial business analyst at KCI and an adjunct business professor at UTSA.  We have four fun, amazing daughters: Hannah, Grace (aka Gracie), Tessa and Emma.  Since they have all been in school, I have been a private tutor, a Spanish teacher, a substitute teacher,  and a sales director for the now closed Ink Hut of Boerne.  I have been very involved in church and school activities teaching all age groups at church from 18 mo. olds in the nursery to adults.  I have also been a Brownie leader, a vice president in the PTA, a volleyball assistant coach, a swim team photographer and the founder of two women’s book groups.

I love to read, visit new places, be with my family and study history.  I love Amy’s portrait work because to me she is helping us all create a part of the personal history that we leave behind for our descendants.

I’ll talk to you soon,  Alice
